Global networks launched to shape smarter sustainability reporting

Revamped GRI membership program where companies and professionals can learn, connect and solve challenges together

The GRI Community, which brings together more than 250 organizations to advance sustainability reporting, has been redesigned as the GRI Networks: two dedicated membership programs that provide targeted benefits and stronger peer engagement.

Each Network is built around the needs of a specific audience, with opportunities to learn from peers, share experience and work through reporting challenges together:

  • GRI Business Network, for reporting companies and in-house sustainability teams. Members can access peer learning, practical support, technical discussions and leadership engagement, with opportunities to collaborate with organizations facing similar challenges.
  • GRI Expert Network, for sustainability reporting consultants, advisory firms and assurance providers. It focuses on professional learning, business development support, enhanced visibility within the GRI ecosystem and networking with fellow experts.

Progressing corporate sustainability depends on collaboration and shared learning. The new GRI Networks create two distinct but connected high-trust spaces where members not only receive guidance and exchange experiences, they solve challenges and unlock benefits together.

For over a decade, the GRI Community has enabled members around the world to learn from one another and raise the bar for transparency. The new GRI Networks make that exchange even more relevant and targeted, connecting organizations and professionals with peers who understand their challenges. This next chapter will help us provide focused support while strengthening the relationships and engagement that made the Community so valuable.

Across both Networks, members continue to have access to the latest Standards developments, as well as tools and content to support them across reporting challenges.

Engaging with GRI will be direct and straightforward – through workshops, ‘AskGRI’ online sessions, and monthly office hours where members can bring their reporting questions. A new online platform will bring it all together in one dedicated space – to connect with peers, find resources and tools, and join conversations.

Building on the Biodiversity and Climate & Energy pilot programs, where participants collaborated on reporting experiences with new GRI Standards, ‘Communities of Practice’ is being added. These will provide opportunities for Business Network members to hear from international experts and work through implementation challenges with peers.

Support for learning will continue, with members benefiting from a 25% discount on GRI Academy courses and enrolments in GRI Professional Certification Programs and other courses. They will also access up to 25% discounts on Report Services, where experts provide actionable recommendations for more effective and aligned sustainability reports.
